Lead and mentor a team of 3 credit and collections professionals with a focus on performance, development, and retention
Manage and monitor customer credit limits, payment terms, and risk assessments
Oversee the collections process to ensure timely and effective follow-up on outstanding receivables
Maintain and reconcile customer accounts, resolving disputes or discrepancies in a timely manner
Ensure compliance with state and local sales tax regulations and support monthly sales tax reporting
Apply knowledge of lien laws (including preliminary notices and lien waivers) to protect company interests, especially on construction or project-related receivables
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, and Accounting to resolve account issues and improve the order-to-cash cycle
Generate AR aging and credit exposure reports; monitor trends and escalate issues as needed
Leverage ERP and reporting tools to analyze data and drive efficiencies
Support audit and month-end close processes as they relate to accounts receivable
Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Certification such as CBA (Credit Business Associate) or CCE (Certified Credit Executive) is a strong plus
5+ years of progressive experience in credit and collections
2+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role
Experience in a high-volume environment with multistate operations
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)
Hands-on experience with a major ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
Working knowledge of sales tax regulations and lien laws (e.g., mechanics liens, preliminary notices)
Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
